Stained Glass Monarch Teardrop Butterfly
Monarchs are fascinating pollinators and I always feel chosen when they visit our flower gardens during their long haul on the monarch highway. Of all my pollinator patterns, I like the Teardrop Butterfly best because I can customize a background to showcase these lovely creatures.
This piece was made with a couple different kinds of transparent orange water glass, including a textured fingerprint glass, as well as black glass accents. The background is made with Pennsylvania-made Youghiogheny semi-transparent, mottled green stained glass.
Made using the Tiffany-method of copper foil and solder and framed in lead. Glass is a unique material in that it will stay rich and vibrant in the sun for generations.
Materials: Stained glass, copper foil, lead frame, lead solder, metal hook.
Measurements: Approximately 6 inches x 9 inches
The piece will be wrapped in colorful tissue paper, packaged in environmentally-friendly, plastic-free cushion wrap, and shipped in a recycled cardboard box.
