Campground Critters Luminary
Wilderness lovers and campers know the connection that a campfire, a good tent and a few forest critters can bring to your soul. This year, I'm debuting my very first luminary that fits into an oak base that is retrofitted with a nightlight bulb and power cord.
The luminary is made with swirled blue and white glass fully fused into a white glass background. After annealing, the background is adorned with hand cut and ground tent, campfire logs, and raccoons, caterpillar, owl, fairy lights, flames, stars and so on and then fired again.
When lit, the bulb lights up the campfire and swirled blue and white glass around the raccoons, tent and night sky (see images).
Materials: Fusing glass, oak base, nightlight bulb and power cord with regular household plug.
Measurements: Luminary campground is approximately 4 inches tall x 7 inches wide and oak base is approximately 4 inches wide by 7 inches long.
The piece will be wrapped in colorful tissue paper, packaged in environmentally-friendly, plastic-free cushion wrap, and shipped in a recycled cardboard box.
