Color Changing Van Gogh Botanical Barn Owl
In true barn owl style - now you see me, now you don't! Van Gogh stained glass is unique in that out of the sunlight, it has color but then once put into sunlight, it turns into a black and white frosty leaf pattern. I used this glass to honor the bold stealth of our barn owl cousins who fly completely silent through the woods to catch their prey at night.
I made this piece in the Tiffany style of stained glass art with a variety of transparent and opaque stained glass including mottled white for the moon, black for the eyes and wing, clear for the background, brown/silver Van Gogh glass for the body and green Van Gogh glass for the leaves.
Materials: Stained glass, lead solder, lead frame, hooks and wire for hanging.
Measurements: Approximately 9 x 9 inches
This piece will be wrapped in colorful tissue paper, packaged in environmentally-friendly, plastic-free cushion wrap, and shipped in a recycled cardboard box.
