Acadia Stained Glass Tide Pool
Tide Pool is inspired by Acadia National Park in Maine where I fell in love with the miniature ecosystems that dot the shorelines. Each tide pool is unique and filled with kelp, snails, rocks, crabs and swirling water. I designed this piece to have various elements, including a real agate, to capture the soft movement of the sea as the water fills the rocky crevices along the bay.
The Tide Pool was made using the Tiffany-method of copper foil and solder. I selected various colors of Pennsylvania-based Youghiogheny glass, which is hand crafted to capture the essence of nature, and water glasses.
Materials: Blue agate, stained glass, copper foil, lead frame, lead solder, metal hook and hanging wire.
Measurements: Approximately 10 inches x 10 inches
The piece will be wrapped in colorful tissue paper, packaged in environmentally-friendly, plastic-free cushion wrap, and shipped in a recycled cardboard box. Care instructions included.
