Agate Ranunculus Stained Glass Window Hanging
One of my favorite kind of free flowing glass pieces to make is an organically-shaped stained glass window hanging that utilizes natural elements like agates. Originally, I drew this piece to be a rose, but as it came together, I saw the piece transform into a robust ranunculus, which is one of my favorite flowers.
The Agate Ranunculus is made using the Tiffany-method of copper foil and solder. I created the piece from one, beautiful variegated sheet of Pennsylvania-based Youghiogheny glass, which is hand crafted to capture the essence of nature. I enclosed a stunning agate in the middle to give depth and add wonder.
Materials: Red agate, stained glass, copper foil, lead frame, lead solder, metal hook and hanging wire.
Measurements: Approximately 5 x 9
The piece will be wrapped in colorful tissue paper, packaged in environmentally-friendly, plastic-free cushion wrap, and shipped in a recycled cardboard box. Care instructions included.
